World Maternal Mental Health Day Observed at UMDC

An Awareness Session and Poster Competition was organized on 6th May 2026 at Faiz Muhammad Khan Auditorium, United Medical and Dental College, under the theme “Breaking the Silence: Maternal Mental Health Matters” in connection with World Maternal Mental Health Day.

The event was organized by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in collaboration with the Department of Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry.

The event featured enlightening talks by distinguished speakers including Prof. Dr. Saba Pario, Prof. Dr. Sadia Ahsan Pal, Dr. Ayesha Malik, Dr. Asma Zarin, Prof. Dr. Chooni Lal, Prof. Dr. Kaweeta Kumari, Dr. Ravi Kumar and Prof. Dr. Farhat Bashir, highlighting the importance of screening, psychosocial factors, and integration of mental health into obstetric care.

The session concluded with impactful poster presentations, reaffirming UMDC’s commitment to prioritizing maternal mental well-being beyond physical health.
